Dear Ms. Vitarelli,
There are a variety of different arrhythmias that can develop from congenital heart disease. Medications are not perfect and ablation is often a good approach for many patients. Fortunately, techniques for catheter ablation have improved significantly over the years. If medicine is now working, that’s great. However, if you are still having problems with arrhythmias despite medical therapy, you may want to ask your doctor about re-considering another ablation procedure.

i was born in 1949 with a hole in my heart. it was repaired in 1958 at Childrens hospital. at the age of 47 i began having arrhythmias. i have been on different medications through the years and had an ablation done about 11 years ago. It did not work because i had to much scar tissue. i am presently being treated by Dr. Gessman. do you have any statistics on my future?
